I picked up a copy of Tiger through the LEM Swap list a year or so ago. I just posted it as a "Wanted to Buy" and got several responses.

Hey Bill!

Unfortunately you'll have to track down a retail copy of OS 10.4 Tiger. The version of Mac OS 10.4 that is currently installed on your G5 is specific to your G5 hardware and will not work on your G4 Powerbook.

I did a quick amazon and ebay search for a copy and didn't come up with much, but maybe some other members have some ideas.

Hope that helps!

I have a G4 power book and a G5 desktop that came with mac OS 10.3 and OS 10.4 respectively. I want them to have the same OS. Two questions-- 1. what is the best way to upgrade the laptop to the desktop OS? 2. What is legal (or not) or ethical. Can I just use a copy of the desktop and load it onto the laptop ( the desktop has been updated several times- which is very painful on a dialup conn- so I would like to copy the current OS to the laptop.

Thanks so much for any help!

Bill
